The Bone Curse, A Supernatural Medical Thriller, Advance Reader Copy #Giveaway

Medicine has no cure for evil…

The Bone Curse by Carrie Rubin

🔹If you got cut by an old bone in the Paris catacombs and your Haitian friend swore it cursed you, would you believe her?

🔹If people close to you succumbed to a grisly illness with no medical cure, would you start to have doubts?

🔹If a practitioner of dark magic hungered for your blood and threatened your family, would you suspend everything you believe to be true and enter an occult world as foreign to you as it is frightening?

In The Bone Curse, if Ben Oris wants to save his loved ones from a deadly illness, that’s exactly what he must do.

With the help of his Haitian friend, this rational, logical, science-minded med student must use Vodou to find a cure. But first, he must battle the mysterious priest who’s bent on vengeance and determined to have Ben’s blood as his own.

Advance Reader Copy Giveaway:

The Bone Curse (ScienceThrillers Media), a medical thriller with supernatural elements, is the first in my planned series about a scientist who gets caught up in otherworldly situations. Its release date is March 27, 2018. To formerly announce it, I have:

  • 3 paperback Advance Reader Copies (ARCs) to give away to U.S. readers
  • 3 electronic ARCs to give away to non-U.S. readers

Woot woot, I’m so excited I could boogie!

The hope with ARCs, of course, is early readers and early reviews, but there is no obligation to do either. Reviews can be left on Goodreads at any time.  They can be left on Amazon once the book is officially published. Reviews should mention that you received an ARC from the author.

Because there are issues with holding giveaways on our blogs, I’m going to use Rafflecopter for the giveaway.

Oh, I hear you:

“Those are annoying.”

But I promise I kept the requirements to a minimum. No having to share on Twitter. No having to like my Facebook page. No having to land on Mars. Instead, all you have to do is submit your email (for winner notification) and answer a fun, simple question. Click on the appropriate Rafflecopter giveaway below to see what it is.

Good luck and…

…watch out for those curses.

“A sizzling slice of Vodou served alongside methodical medical science. What’s not to love? Unique characters, a plot that galloped along, and some damn fine writing, too.”—G.M. Barlean, author of The Rosewood Series

“A cursed medical student… a vengeful Vodou priest… a vast subterranean Parisian catacomb with more secrets than the bones that rest there… what could go wrong? Take note medical thriller fans, the genre has a new contender, and her name is Carrie Rubin.”—Larry Brooks, USA Today bestselling author

I’m so sorry to hear about your father-in-law, but congratulations on your new book. So exciting! I’m off to Rafflecopter now, but even if I don’t get an ARC you know I’ll buy The Bone Curse as soon as it comes out. 🙂

  2. Dawn Quyle Landau

Oooh, fingers crossed that I win (birthday present!), and if not… can’t wait to get it in March! Love the cover, Carrie!! Mazel Tov!

  3. Alejandro De La Garza

Congratulations on the new book, Carrie! It looks intriguing. And please accept my condolences on the loss of your stepfather. Don’t worry about us. Just stay with your mother at this difficult time.

    • Carrie Rubin

Thank you so much on both counts. He was much more a father than a ‘step’ father, and we’ll miss him a great deal.

  4. 2bcreativeblog

Sorry to hear of the loss of your stepfather. I’m glad you can be there for the family. This book sounds really good! Can’t wait. 🙂 Best wishes promoting it! 🙂

  5. joey

My congratulations and my condolences all at once.
I’m excited for the latter! 🙂

  6. Book Club Mom

Congratulations – what a great presentation! I’ve got my copy ready to go and I’m hoping to get to it soon. Your description makes me want to start tonight!

    • Carrie Rubin

Thank you. He was such a great guy, and his death came so unexpectedly. But at least I’m able to come out here and help my mother. Thanks so much for the shares on Twitter. Much appreciated!

Sorry about your step father. This must be a hard time to work on your new book’s promotion. But I have to say, it sounds really good and I can’t wait to read it!

    • Carrie Rubin

Thank you. It is difficult. This post and giveaway has been planned for a few weeks, and his passing was unexpected. He was such a wonderful man. But I guess life goes on and doesn’t wait for us, so I went ahead and posted it as planned.

  8. T. W. Dittmer

Sorry for your loss, Doc. Take care of things, but take care of yourself too.

Congrats on the new release. Sounds like a good one.

  9. Luanne

Carrie, I’m so sorry about your stepfather. I hope it wasn’t a shock and that you knew it was coming, if that makes sense.
Congrats on the book(s). So exciting! I think I might have entered the giveaway (thought you weren’t going to do those anymore haha?), but had no way to tell. I let them onto my Facebook, but there was no confirmation or anything. I hope it worked because I WANT TO WIN.

    • Carrie Rubin

I’m sure it worked, but I’ll check for your name. My previous post about giveaways was that I probably wouldn’t do Goodreads giveaways anymore because so many winners just immediately sell the book without reading it. But I am doing an ARC giveaway over there too since ARC books can’t be sold. 😁 Thanks so much!

It was very sudden and unexpected with my stepdad, so we’re all in a bit of shock. He was more a dad than a “step” dad and we’ll miss him terribly.

Oh Carrie, I’m so sorry. Both of my in-laws passed that way–with no warning–and I do think it’s much harder that way (for those of us left behind).
Interesting re ARC. Good luck with it!! And, yes, please make sure I’m signed up!

  10. acflory

Hmm…I /think/ I entered the ebook one but after answering the question there was no confirmation? Not sure if that’s normal or not.
Anyway, I’m delighted the new book is so close to launch. Can hardly wait. 🙂

  11. Jacqui Murray

I am so sorry for your stepfather. This sounds like it’s pretty much on auto-pilot (the giveaway) so no need to do anything on your part (I think, I’ve never done this sort of give-away!).

    Loved loved loved the book!

    • Carrie Rubin

Thanks so much, Jacqui. I really appreciate your early support of it on NetGalley. Yes, the giveaways were all set to go today, and I’ve had the post ready for weeks. Didn’t know the timing would be so bad when we planned it. 😦

  12. Letizia

I am so sorry to hear about your stepfather.
Looking forward to reading your new book – it sounds very intriguing.
    love and hugs

  13. Jennifer Kelland Perry

Oh Carrie, I’m so sorry to hear about your stepfather! Please accept my sincere condolences.
P.S. I entered your giveaway, but I will be reading your new novel no matter what.
